Title: Children's Ministry Coordinator
 
The Children’s Ministry Coordinator oversees all Children’s ministry programs and the Christian education of children ages birth to 5th grade. This ministry position includes oversight to paid workers and volunteers serving in our preschool and nursery areas with the sole purpose of leading all children to a foundational authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

This is a Part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week salary. Compensation is based on education, training and experience. Compensation includes 1 week paid vacation per year after the first 6 months of employment and 2 weeks annually after three years of employment.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Must be a born-again believer and follower of Christ.
  • Must possess sound beliefs and doctrine that are in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, a moral character beyond reproach, and godliness in conduct.
  • Must have a minimum of a BS or BA degree with a minimum of 2 years experience working with children or equivalent experience of 4+ years working with children.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to work church services, additional planning hours, office, event planning hours and work at church as well as other sites (i.e. camp, mission trips, etc.)
  • Must possess the ability to make decisions, have vision, passion, as well as be creative and energetic.
  • Must be competent in leadership abilities to include organization, delegation, administration and interpersonal relationships.
  • Must have the ability to work well with parents, volunteers, church staff and children
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to interact with many different individuals in a professional manner.
  • Must be self-motivated with a team approach attitude in ministry.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills and ability to handle stress well.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to recruit and coordinate volunteers.
  • Must be familiar with various computer software packages, PowerPoint, and social media.
 
OBJECTIVES: 
The Children’s Ministry Coordinator, with input from Pastoral staff and Elders, will oversee the ministries developed for the children of Meadowview Baptist Church and its community including Sunday mornings and evenings, Wednesday nights, summer programming, special events, for birth through 5th grade including, but not limited to, the following duties:
  • Develop and implement a Christ-centered comprehensive program of Christian education and development for children beginning at birth and continuing through grade 5.
  • Develop ministries that are creative, exciting, innovative and relevant to the children and families of the church.
  • Work with the Pastors, Elders and with the Administrative Office Manager in overseeing policies and procedures for the Children’s ministry.
  • Lead in the evaluation of the Children’s ministry on an annual basis with all Children’s ministry leaders and senior church staff.
  • Create a safe, positive, nurturing and age-appropriate learning environment for every child. In coordination with the administrative staff, help facilitate the safety process (applications, background checks, etc.) for the recruitment of leaders and volunteers. Conduct systematic and periodic safety and cleanliness inspections of all children spaces and equipment.
  • Partner with parents in the ongoing task of raising children to know and serve the Lord.
  • Work with the Pastors and Elders to conduct and/or plan training opportunities  for Children’s ministry leaders and volunteers.
  • Evaluate age appropriate program materials, equipment, supplies, and space for Children’s ministry.
  • Work with Pastors, Elders and the Administrative Office Manager to develop an annual budget and manage funds for the fiscal year.
  • Assist with the maintenance and scheduling of church facilities for Children’s ministry.
  • Serve as a resource and church staff liaison for parents.
  • Attend church staff meetings with church pastors and meet regularly with Children’s ministry leaders and volunteers.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities assigned by the Church Pastors and Elders as appropriate.
  • Performs under the general supervision of the Lead Pastor, Family Ministry Pastor and Elders.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the Church staff, Church members and volunteers.

    Parental Consent and Release for Publishing or Showing Minor Child's Still or Moving Image
              I understand that from time to time, pictures are taken during the activities at Meadowview Baptist Church, or under its direction, and then they are presented in various church-sponsored media.  These include, but are not limited to: pictures, video productions, newsletters, television programs, web casts, brochures, handbooks, programs and Internet web pages.  This form is to notify you that those meetings, events and activities (including worship and classroom settings) are considered public and they are videotaped and photographed and used in the above listed manner.  Further, on occasion a child's image may be singled out and used as an identifiable image.  In order for us to use an image of your child where they are not part of a larger group, we ask that you sign the waiver below to grant permission for us to use your child's image.
              I hereby remise, release and forever discharge Meadowview Baptist Church, its agents and employees from any liability for any injury or action against the above-named minor resulting from the use of such pictures, video or other image in any medium utilized.  This release includes that Meadowview Baptist Church will not be responsible for other user's reproduction, display, distribution of modification of the minor's images in any manner, nor will Meadowview Baptist Church be responsible for defamation, misrepresentation, criminal acts by any unauthorized use of Meadowview Baptist Church images by third parties.
    ​          I hereby release to Meadowview Baptist Church all right to copyright this work and or exhibit this work in print or electronic form publicly or privately.  I also permit them to market and sell copies as necessary.  I waive any rights, claims or interest that I or my child may have concerning these images.  I understand that I will not be compensated in any way for the use of my child's photograph, whether it is a still or moving image.  You have my permission to use my child's image in the media types listed above, as well as any new media formats that are developed in the future.  I am at least 18 years of age, I understand the above statement and I am competent to execute this agreement.
